William Edward
Nation
February 9, 1936 — April 24, 2025
Clovis
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of William Edward Nation, affectionately known as Bill, on April 24, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on February 9, 1936, in El Reno, Oklahoma, Bill spent his life residing in Tucson, AZ, and San Jose, CA, before settling in Clovis, CA, for the past 24 years.
Bill's greatest pride was his long and loving marriage, recently celebrating 67 years with his beloved wife, Elizabeth. He was a devoted family man, welcoming two great-grandchildren into the world. Known for his kindness, fatherly example, and supportive nature, Bill touched the hearts of many. A passionate sports enthusiast, he was especially fond of the 49ers and dedicated many years to coaching Little League, including the teams of his oldest grandson and granddaughter.
Bill will be remembered for his love of family, strong Catholic faith, and his readiness to help those in need. His remarkable ability to connect with people led to lasting relationships throughout his life. He is survived by his loving wife, Elizabeth Nation, 5 children, 9 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Bill, or Papa as he was fondly called, will be deeply missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.
A Rosary/Vigil will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 2025, at Clovis Funeral Chapel at 6:00 p.m. and a Mass to celebrate his life will be held on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Clovis, CA, at 11:00 a.m.
