Robert John "Bob" Rosenhagen, aged 79, passed away peacefully in his sleep on August 14, 2024 after a long battle with cancer in Clovis, California. Bob was born on May 12, 1945, in Ossining, New York. He was known to all for his brave, humorous, caring, hardworking, and adventurous spirit. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
He was a graduate of Ossining High School, Ossining, New York in 1963 and always valued his friendships and lessons he gained there. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1993, dedicating 30 years to his country with unwavering commitment and 7 tours in Vietnam. After his military service, he continued to serve his community as a Police Officer with the Mendota Police Department in Mendota, California from 1972 until 1991, and later as an Investigator for Welfare Fraud with the State of California Health Department until his retirement in 2014. While working with the Mendota Police Department, he worked as a volunteer Paramedic. Later in his work career, he did some farming on the Westside of the Valley harvesting cotton.
Bob's passion for the outdoors was evident through his favorite activities, which included cross-country travel, camping, hunting, golfing, hiking and fishing. He was also a San Francisco Giants Fan and loved spending time with his family and friends.
Bob is survived by his former wife and loyal friend, Ruth Rosenhagen; Children, Robert T Rosenhagen, Kathleen (Ernie) Garcia, and Gerling (Billy) Modesto; brother, William Rosenhagen, Jr.; Grandchildren, Korey (Samantha) Rosenhagen, Cody Gomez, Nicole (Brandon) Cruz, Thomas Modesto, Robbie Modesto, Ingrid Modesto, and Nicholas Garcia; Great-Grandchildren, Benjamin, Aubree, Jesse, and Bowie. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Rosenhagen Sr. And Mildred F. Rosenhagen (Carlson), as well as his siblings Peter Rosenhagen Sr. and Rae Ann Schumacher.
A service to celebrate Bob's life will be held at 11:00am on Friday, August 30, 2024, at the Clovis Funeral Chapel, 1302 Clovis Ave, Clovis, CA. Luncheon to follow at Michaelangelo's Pizzeria in Old Town Clovis.
