Richard Allen Schertz passed away on June 6, 2026, at the age of 62. He leaves behind a legacy of love, friendship, and cherished memories that will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.

Richard is survived by his devoted husband, Stanley Allen Smith, known to family and friends as Allen. Together they shared 42 wonderful years of love and companionship, including 18 years of marriage. Their enduring relationship was built on unwavering commitment, mutual respect, and countless adventures together.

One of Richard and Allen's greatest joys was traveling in their trailer, exploring new places and creating lasting memories alongside their beloved dogs, Dusty and Winston. Whether on the open road or at home with just each other, Richard found happiness in the simple moments.

He is also survived by his nephew David Botts, brother-in-law, Mike Wynn, as well as many beloved family members, and dear friends who will deeply miss his kindness, sense of humor, and caring nature.

Richard will be remembered for his warm heart, generous spirit, and the love he shared so freely with others. His presence brought comfort, laughter, and joy to the lives of many, and his memory will continue to be treasured by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Though Richard's earthly journey has come to an end, the love he gave and the memories he created will live on forever in the hearts of his family and friends.
