Obituary

Ray Ervin Lewis Jr., born on January 24, 1951, entered into rest on July 23, 2025. He was a devoted husband to his high school sweetheart, Nelda Wilson, for 55 years. Together, they raised a loving family, including their children Jason Lewis and Jamie Mott (husband Jared), and were blessed with grandchildren Dylan (wife Justine), Garrett, Wyatt, Avery, Brooklyn, and Baron, as well as great-grandchildren Koda and Nicole.

Ray was a man who cherished God, family, friends, and his country. He proudly served in the Navy during the Vietnam War, honoring his commitment to his nation. His Native American heritage was a source of pride, and he often shared fond memories of his Great Grandmother's reliance on God.

Introduced to soccer by his son's coach, Ray found joy in the sport, forming lasting friendships along the way. As a grandfather, he embraced the role of a 'superhero grandpa,' delighting in taking his grandchildren to 7-Eleven for after-school snacks.

Ray had a compassionate heart, supporting Church Missions, St. Jude Children's Hospital, and the Christian Broadcast Network, while also helping the homeless as much as possible. His life was a testament to his gratitude for God's mercy, blessings, and love.

Ray is survived by his sisters Linda Holman (husband Jack) and Vickie Barrios, along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Ray & Pauline Lewis Sr., his sisters Dianna Jones, Peggy Lewis, Judy Gabbard, Sandra Reyna, and his brother Gordon Lewis.

Ray passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family and his beloved pet, Summer. His legacy is one of a life well-lived and love well-deserved.
