Obituary

Bo was the youngest of 10 children born to Joel and Dora Maldonado, a few minutes after his twin sister. He was known to every person who met him as a man of un-shakable integrity, possessing a strong work ethic, and a true love for his fellow human beings. A man of deep-seated values and commitment to family, Bo was one who didn't have many shirts because he was prone to giving them to folks, right off his back. He had friends who went back over 50 years and some he had just met a few months ago but he was equally loyal to them all. As a young boy, Bo, along with his older brothers, learned from his oldest brother, Joe, how to put in a full day's work and to appreciate the dignity that hard work brings. Whether it was picking grapes as a child, hauling hay as a teenager, or working as a highly-skilled technician as an adult, his work spoke for itself. Over the years, several Fresno companies benefited from his skills. Between Bo and his brothers, there was little that couldn't be built or fixed. Bo founded and for many years operated his own company, Noah's Dental Repair. As the "grandpa" employee at the last company that was fortunate to have him on the payroll, JC Melton Air Conditioning, Bo was the only one to ever have his name painted on his truck, that's how much he was valued.

Bo and his wife, Hortencia, raised his nephew Moses as their own. His older sister has always said that every family should have a Bo to bring light, joy and laughter into every interaction. He was undeniably everyone's favorite brother, uncle, friend, and had a knack for making everyone feel as if they were his favorite as well. He gave attention, time, affection and concern to others, some would say to a fault, but Bo wouldn't say that. It was his nature, his way of showing the face of Jesus to others. The only competition for his love for his family and friends was the love he felt for his pets, of which he had many over the years. Sadie was a prime example of his long-time devotion to his furry companions.
A Raiders, Fresno State, and Giants fan, he enjoyed sharing special game days with family and friends. He was an aspiring Cornholer and played golf on occasion. He also liked to cook and bake. But his passion was fishing. If there was a fishing lake anywhere in sight, Bo would be plotting to get a boat in there to catch his limit. Bo attended West Park Elementary school and graduated from Washington Union High School, class of '76. Bo is survived by his wife, Hortencia, his nephew Moses, siblings Joel, Polly, Arthur, married to Reina, Leti, Frank, married to Terry, Rosendo, married to Yolanda, Noemi, in-laws Ramona, Jennie, Blaine, Teresa and Steve. He is also survived by many loving nephews, nieces, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters Rebecca and Deonicia, in-laws David, Nick, Judy, Larry, Tommy and nephew Art.
