Mona June Harris, 89 passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 2, 2024.  Mona was born in Bristow, Oklahoma on March 31, 1935, and came to California with her parents, Frank and Ruth Snelling during the Dust Bowl migration.  The family settled in Delano, Ca where she graduated from Delano High School.

She then went to nursing school in Fresno, CA and received her degree as a registered nurse.  Her nursing career was very long and diversified with many types of jobs.  Her last job was working at Fresno Community Regional Medical Center as a labor and delivery nurse and eventually moved to the OR to help doctors with the cesarean sections and doing work ups on the newborn babies.  She loved her job.  She was a nurse for 55 years and finally retired at the age of 75.

She married Neal Harris and they settled in Fresno, California.  She and her family went on great vacations and camped in their RV at the coast and mountains.  She did fun things with her nursing friends and joined the Red Hat Society. She would go on great cruise vacations and had lots of great memories with her children and grandchildren.

Even when she had a severe stroke and was paralyzed on her left side, she tried to stay positive living in The Armenian Home. The staff there loved her.  She was there the last two and a half years of her life.

Mona Harris is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Gleghorn and son-n- law Rodney, her son Brent Harris, her granddaughters Shannon and Shelby Gleghorn, all of Fresno, CA and her sister Karon Stine in Parker, Colorado.
