Obituary

Mary Elizabeth Fickle (Betty) 1933-2024

Beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and Aunt. Born on August 14, 1933, in Warwick, RI to Milton and Margaret Wood. Betty was a religious woman who attended OLPH church for over fifty years. Betty's faith, family and close friends were very important to her. She enjoyed dancing, music, baking and family time. In 1956 she married Alfred Fickle the love of her life. They moved across country to Clovis, Ca where they raised a family. Betty was a homemaker and worked for the family business at Campus Coral and Arabian Villa from 1957 until 1980 when it sold. On March 13, 1990, she lost her husband Alfred Fickle to cancer. Moving forward she continued her focus on her family and caring for the grandchildren. Betty touched many lives over her 91 years. Always willing to offer a helping hand and a hot meal. To know her was to love her. Many referred to her as Ma, Mom, and grandma. She enjoyed a good laugh, cup of tea, coffee and her sweets. It was the little things that made her happy.

On September 29, 2024, she was called to her forever home in Heaven. Surrounded by loved ones.

This message was left among some of her things.

For Those I Love

For Those Who Love Me...

When I am gone, release me, let me go...

I have so many things to see and do You mustn't tie yourself to me with tears, be happy that we had so many years.

I gave you, my love. You can only guess How much you gave me in happiness.

I thank you for the love you each have shown, but now it's time I travelled on alone.

So, grieve a while for me, if grieve you must.

Then let your grief be comforted by trust.

It's only for a while that we must part.

So, bless the memories that lie within your heart.

I won't be far away, for life goes on.

So, if you need me, call and I will come.

Though you can't see me or touch me, I'll be near.

And if you listen with your heart, you'll hear All of my love around you soft and clear.

And then, when you must come this way alone...

I'll greet you with a smile and "Welcome Home."

Gone but never forgotten. Rest in Paradise until we see you again. We love you.
