Joseph Wilferd Ricken, fondly known as Joe, was born on October 31, 1924, in Dodge City, Kansas, to Will and Christina Ricken. He lived a remarkable life, reaching the age of 100 before passing away on November 27, 2024.

Joe's life was a testament to resilience and dedication. Growing up in Kansas during the Great Depression and the Dust Bowl, he embodied the spirit of 'The Greatest Generation.' He served his country with honor in the Navy during World War II, stationed in the South Pacific.

After the war, Joe returned home and worked in the dairy industry as a salesman while also managing his own farm, where he raised grapes. In May 1941, he married the love of his life, Ruth Isla Mayfield. Together, they shared nearly 75 years of marriage, moving to California in 1943 and settling in Clovis in 1960, where they lived in the same home for many years.

In retirement, Joe and Ruth Isla enjoyed traveling across the United States, Canada, and Mexico in their motorhome, creating cherished memories along the way. They raised two sons, Dean and Dennis, and were blessed with six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruth Isla, and his son, Dennis. He is survived by his son Dean and his wife Marjorie, as well as his grandchildren: Lori Paris and her husband Jan Erik, Brooks Ricken and his wife Tammy, Melissa Brown and her husband Timothy, Blake Ricken, Nancy Lyle and her husband Martin, and Andrew Ricken.
