Joseph G
Hitti
December 10, 1952 — August 7, 2024
Fresno
Our beloved Joseph George Hitti left us on August 7, 2024 at the age of 71. Joseph touched the hearts of all he encountered with love, kindness and generosity. Joseph was a beacon of hope a pillar of strength, a companion in joy and sorrow, and above all he was a father figure to all he loved. Joseph had a remarkable life filled with extraordinary moments and simple joys.
He was a man of humble beginnings born and raised in Chimlan, Lebanon on December 10, 1952. He is joined in death with his parents George and Marie Hitti and his four sisters Samira, Lody, Layla, and Najwa, and loving niece Michelle. He is survived by his beloved sister Janan and twelve nieces and nephews (Michlene, Charles, Lodmila, Paul, Phillip, Pier, Gerard, Badia, Layla, Zeina, Raymond and Richard) who were like his own. He was a storyteller, a musician, a traveler, a gardener, a hunter, but most of all a hard worker who had an unquenchable thirst for knowledge. He wore many hats, he was a successful broker, a talented Luthier with an exquisite eye for details in all wooden instruments he made. He always said his most enjoyable job was working in Beirut airport, scheduling airplanes takeoff and landing.
Although he succeeded in all he did his most iconic role was being everyone's favorite Khalo ZooZoo. He had the kind of humor that could light up any room. His legacy lives on in the memories we shared, and the lessons we learned from him, Rest in peace, dear Joseph, you will forever be missed, but your spirit will forever live on our hearts.
