Johnny Joe
Escobedo
June 3, 1946 — January 28, 2025
Stockon
In loving memory of John "Uncle Johnny" Escobedo
John was born on June 3, 1946, in Stockton, Ca. and passed away on January 28, 2025 in Sacramento, Ca at the age of 78 years. He was born and raised in Stockton, Ca in the Lodi and Woodbridge communities. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Army and was the recipient of the Purple Heart along with other honors. He was known to many of his relatives as "Uncle Johnny" who was a very private, loving man. He is the son of Mary "Maria" Chavez, brother to Genevieve "Veva" Mendoza, Felix Orozco and Eusebio "Chevy" Orozco, now reunited with his mother and siblings.
Uncle Johnny is survived by his daughter Kimberly, son Eddie & his grandchildren, Sister-in-law Rachel Orozco (wife of Chevy), nephews:
Ramon Orozco (son of Felix). Ruben Mendoza (son of Veva). Raul Orozco (son of Chevy): nieces: Yolanda Mendoza (daughter of Veva). Marta Orozco-Gutierrez (daughter of Felix) & Christina Orozco (daughter of Chevy), 10 great-nieces & nephews, 9 great-great nephews & nieces.
Uncle Johnny is also survived by several of his mother's Chavez family from Delano and Bakersfield area. Uncle Johnny was hoping to revisit his mother's hometown to reunite with some of her family from Delano and Bakersfield, however, was unable to complete this task before his passing. We all have some great memories and would love to share these precious moments as we celebrate his life. To many of us, he was the cool uncle who we enjoyed hearing stories about his adventures in life. He loved the Rolling Stones and always came by anytime he came to one of their concerts in the Bay Area.
We love him, will cherish memories and will miss his soft-spoken voice and funny, kind of laughter-giggle. Uncle Johnny will be remembered for his service in the United States Army where unfortunately he was injured as a young man, his love for his family & friends, his kindness and his sense of humor he leaves behind. Though Uncle Johnny's time with us has ended, his legacy of strength, courage & bravery will forever resonate in the lives he has touched. We love and honor you Uncle Johnny Escobedo. You will be greatly missed. Our hearts are full of both sorrow and gratitude. We celebrate Uncle Johnny's extraordinary life. Rest in peace Uncle Johnny…..
