Johnnie Louise Darr was born on June 6, 1933 in Evening Shade, Arkansas. In 1950, Johnnie married Guy Darr. In 1952, a son, Eugene Charles Darr, was born. Soon after they bought a property that included a sawmill. Guy built their first house. It was hard to make a living in Arkansas so the Darr family moved to New Orleans, Louisiana. It was here Johnnie graduated from Beauty School and got her license. Guy opened an engine rebuilding shop and life was good until Hurricane Betsy hit in 1965. Johnnie had survived many a twister in Arkansas but Betsy unleashed a lightning fury and flooding that caused the family to lose power for a week. Johnnie had her fill of tornadoes and hurricanes so the family moved to Fresno, CA in 1967.They eventually settled in Easton on 20 acres and shared many a good time with her sister, Sue, husband Dan, and the Baker family. In 1975 Johnnie and Guy divorced. Johnnie moved to Lamona Avenue where she met Stan. The love and companionship of Stan and his daughter Leah were invaluable in her final years. Johnnie was a devout christian and read her Bible daily. Rest in peace Johnnie
