Janea Marie Lopes was born in Hanford, California, on Wednesday, June 6, 1962, to Frank and Rozell Lopes. She passed away on Thursday, March 20, 2025 in Fresno, California at the age of 62.

Janea is preceded in death by her parents Frank and Rozell Lopes and her beloved  brother-in-law, John Gleichweit. She is survived by her son David Lopes-Hardwick, her sister Susan Gleichweit and her longtime boyfriend, Mark Lally.

Janea enjoyed spending time with family, specifically her son, David, sister, Susan and boyfriend, Mark, as well as Mark's extended family. She always looked forward to family gatherings, birthdays and other events. She enjoyed a quiet night sitting by the fire pit talking or handing out candy at Halloween. She enjoyed Disney trips, especially the one with her son. She marveled about how much he enjoyed the trip; his reaction made her very happy, but she was also very surprised. Later in life with Mark and his family, she learned that she loved camping in a tent in the Redwoods. Camping led to humorous stories still shared today. You could have asked her about strawberry shortcake or racoons and you would have gotten a look and a laugh. Not to mention Ahhhhh. She loved to laugh especially at herself. She planned to retire from her job for the County of Fresno later this year, after 30 years of faithful service. She hoped to travel and spend more time with her family.

She will be sorely missed but never forgotten by anyone that knew her.

A recitation of the Rosay will be held at Clovis Funeral Chapel on Thursday, April 10 at 6:00p.m.. A memorial mass will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help at 929 Harvard Ave., Clovis, Ca. on Friday, April 11 at 11:00a.m.
