Hormoz
Kermani
July 6, 1953 — May 1, 2026
Reedsport
Hormoz Kermani, born on July 6, 1953, in Iran, passed away unexpectedly on May 1, 2026, in Bass Lake, California.
Hormoz was a man of few words, but his kindness and generosity spoke volumes. He dedicated over 30 years as the self-employed owner of a smog shop in Clovis, California, where he built not only a successful business but lasting relationships within the community. In 2017, he retired and passed the business on to his son, Kevan, who continues his legacy. Many longtime customers still return, sharing stories of Hormoz's warmth and the lasting impression he made on their lives.
He is survived by his beloved son, Kevan; his mother, Malek; his four sisters, Homa, Hengameh, Haideh, and Haleh; his brother, Hooshang; and his two cherished grandsons, Reed and Emmitt. His memories will also be treasured by friends and family.
Family was at the center of Hormoz's life. Anyone who knew him understood how deeply he loved his son and grandsons. He looked forward to speaking with them every Sunday, a simple tradition that meant the world to him. His grandsons will always remember him fondly, especially his silver Dodge truck and the joy he brought into their lives.
Hormoz had a deep love for the outdoors, particularly the mountains. One of his favorite places to be was Sequoia National Park, where he often drove early in the morning, even before sunrise, simply to enjoy the peace and beauty of nature. He found happiness in life's simple pleasures—laughing, socializing, cooking for others, and making those around him feel welcome and cared for.
Hormoz loved his family dearly and extended that same kindness to everyone he met. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his gentle spirit, generosity, and unwavering love for those closest to him.
