Obituary

Gene Rue

It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Gene L Rue announce his passing.

Gene was born in Roswell New Mexico to Cedric and Helen Rue.  He attended school in Farmington New Mexico.  In 1965 Gene enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed in San Diego.  During his time in the Navy while in active duty he served a tour in Vietnam.  He was honorably discharged in August 1969.

He met Helen while he was still serving in the Navy and were married a short time later.  They made their home in Visalia and raised 3 sons. Gene worked for Ruiz Foods in Dinuba as a Maintenance Mechanic for several years.  After he retired, being that he loved the outdoors he decided to move the family to Tollhouse.  He enjoyed hunting, working on his cars, and spending time with his grandkids.  He spent a lot of time teaching them how to work on their own cars and how to weld.  He also enjoyed watching them play baseball and football.  As his health declined, he spent hours in his front yard enjoying the view.

He was preceded in death by his father Cedric Rue, mother Helen Rue, sister Nancy Ochoa, brothers Cedric Rue Jr., Jessie Rue and Ruben Rue. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, his son Ruben Rue/Ondrea of Tulare, Frank Rue/Haydee of Clovis, Gene Rue Jr./Krista of Auberry and grandsons Gage, Sonny, Christian, Christopher, Joseph, Jeremy and Frankie and 1 granddaughter Alyssa Rue.  He is also survived by sister Mary Peters of Farmington and brother Vernon Rue of Phoenix.

We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
