Erma Jean
Cook
March 4, 1952 — August 17, 2026
Clovis, CA
Erma Jean Cook, age 74, passed away on August 17, 2026, following complications related to her heart. She was born on March 4, 1952, to Ed Childress and Etta Childress.
Erma was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Family was at the heart of her life, and she devoted herself to the people she loved.
Erma was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Wayne Cook; her children, Sean Cook and Jamie Cook; and her siblings, Minerva, Ernie, and Lucille.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Morgan, Waylon, Kara and Jessie; her great-grandchildren, Allie, Ellie, and Jamie; and her sisters, Linda and Janetta, along with extended family members and many friends who will miss her dearly.
Erma shared a particularly special bond with her grandchildren, Morgan, Waylon, Kara and Jessie. She often spoke with great pride about them and the people they had become. She played a major role in raising them and was there for them through many of life’s moments. To her grandchildren, she was more than a grandmother—she was a source of love, guidance, comfort, and strength. The bond they shared was one that will remain with them for the rest of their lives.
She also cherished her great-grandchildren, Allie, Ellie, and Jamie, who brought her tremendous joy and gave her even more precious memories to hold onto.
Erma will be remembered for the love she gave so freely to her family, especially the grandchildren who meant so much to her. Her presence in their lives made a lasting difference, and the lessons, love, and memories she gave them will continue through generations.
Though her time with us has come to an end, Erma’s love will remain alive in the hearts of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, sisters, family, and friends. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
