Edward
Ryan
September 23, 1940 — January 20, 2024
Clovis
On January 20, 2024, Edward "Ed" Paul Ryan finished his long and fulfilling journey here on earth at the age of 83. Ed is survived by his wife, Judy; his four children, Richard Silva, Kathy Leger, Eddie Ryan and Kelly Day; his stepchildren, Maja Cahill, Trisha Wedterbeck, Bridgette Davis, Jaymee Avery, Robert Loftin and Mike Loftin; and his many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step grandchildren.
Ed was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Barbara Reagen; father, Joseph Edward Ryan; and brother, Patrick Ryan.
Ed was born and raised in Pennsylvania until the 1970's when he moved to California to pursue his boat racing career and established his successful business A-1 Glass.
Ed poured his heart into his hobbies and business, operating A-1 Glass in Fresno, California for nearly 40 years. He garnered a reputation as an "honest" businessman which stayed with him for his entire life. Ed's passions included nearly 10 years of Flat Bottom boat racing and Hydro racing which resulted in National Championship titles.
Ed was a devoted Fresno State Bulldogs football fan, a regular face in the home game crowd, and tailgating in his custom portable trailer. Much like his enthusiasm for boat racing, Ed was an ardent Nascar supporter, travelling the country to catch thrilling races and collecting his favorite race car drivers' memorabilia and gear. Later in his journey, Ed was rarely separated from his beautiful and loyal Irish Setter, Paddy.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to Central Valley Rescue Railroad at https://www.cvrr.us.
