With solemn hearts and enduring respect, we announce the passing of Mrs. Dorothy Lavonia "Buttercup" Silva, who departed from this world on March 16, 2024, at the age of 86. Born on July 15, 1937, in Providence, Rhode Island, Dorothy was a steadfast presence in her community, a source of unwavering support to her family, and a devout believer in her faith.
Dorothy's memory will be treasured by her sons, Anthony Jr., Derek, Daniel, and Durand; her sisters, Cynthia, Alaina, and Sharon; and her precious grandchildren, Akoni, Bri-Jion, Chachi, Delvon, LeAndre, Chneail, Danielle, Alexandra, Jonathon, Joshua, Jeremy, and Jasmine. Her daughters-in-law, Olga, Dawna, and Regina, along with many nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren, will also hold her close in their thoughts. She is reunited in the Kingdom of Heaven with her husband, Anthony Paul Silva Sr., her parents, Lawrence and Belia Hatter, and her sister, Ruthy Perry.
Mrs. Silva's professional life was marked by her role as a Supervisor in Radiology at Harbor Hospital, where she served with distinction and care. An alumna of Hope High in Providence, Rhode Island, Dorothy's pursuit of knowledge and personal growth was a lifelong endeavor.
Her leisure time was filled with the joys of homemaking, including cooking, singing, sewing, and the artful creation of wedding cakes. Dorothy's home was a testament to her dedication to her family and her passion for life's simple pleasures.
A traditional funeral service to honor the life and legacy of Mrs. Dorothy Lavonia "Buttercup" Silva will be held at The Clovis Funeral Chapel in Clovis, CA, is overseeing the arrangements with the utmost care and dignity.
The family invites all who knew and loved Dorothy to join in the celebration of a life characterized by grace, love, and commitment to others. Her gentle spirit and kind heart will be profoundly missed by all.
