Cristina
Gutierrez
July 23, 1948 — May 5, 2026
Fresno
Cristina Gutierrez, lovingly known as "Lady" to her devoted husband and "Nana" to her cherished grandchildren, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2026. She was born on July 23, 1948, in Tijuana, Mexico, and later made her home in Clovis, California, where she built a life filled with love, laughter, and family.
Cristina lived in Huntington Park, California, for 20 years before moving to Clovis in 1989, where she continued to create a warm and welcoming home for her family and friends.
Cristina shared an enduring love story with her husband, Moses, whom she married on October 22, 1968. Together, they created a strong and loving family. She was a proud and devoted mother to her daughters: Myra (Robert Olivas), Monica (Dion Rowe), Sandy (Louie Ramirez), and Karina (Charles Carr). She was also a deeply loving grandmother to Anthony, Kyla, Amanda, Diego, Benjamin, Charlon, and Charina, each of whom brought her immense joy.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Aurelia, and her brother, Eligio.
Cristina will be remembered for her vibrant personality—her quick wit, warm sense of humor, and the way she could effortlessly make anyone laugh. She had a gift for bringing people together, whether through heartfelt conversations, shared laughter, or a delicious home-cooked meal. Her kitchen was a place of comfort and joy, where she lovingly prepared family favorites like spaghetti, lasagna, and sloppy joes, as well as the Mexican dishes she was so proud to share, like chilaquiles, fideo, and huevos rancheros. She cherished spending time with her family and friends, often enjoying lively gatherings, good conversation, and her beloved margaritas.
Cristina dedicated 20 years of service to the Fresno County Probation Department, retiring in 2012. Her commitment and hard work were a testament to her strength and integrity.
Above all, Cristina's greatest passion was her family. She created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love—a legacy that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
A Rosary and viewing will be held at Clovis Funeral Chapel on Thursday, May 28. A Mass will follow at Our Lady of Perpetual Help on Friday, May 29, with a lunch reception at Pardini's Restaurant immediately following the Mass.
Cristina will be deeply missed and forever remembered for the love she gave, the laughter she shared, and the beautiful life she lived.
