Clovis
In Loving Memory of Andrea Argelia Ramirez
March 3, 1942 – July 25, 2026
Andrea Argelia Ramirez, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many, peacefully entered her heavenly home on Saturday, July 25, 2026, at the age of 84. Andrea was born in Reynosa Díaz, Tamaulipas, Mexico, on March 3, 1942. At approximately five years old, she immigrated to the United States with her family, crossing the Rio Grande into Texas on a wooden raft. After living in Texas and Chicago, her family eventually settled in the Clovis, California area, where she built a life rooted in faith, family, and service.
While working at a poultry factory in Fresno, Andrea met her husband, Edward Ramirez. They married in 1961 and together built a beautiful family, welcoming four children in four consecutive years. Their marriage was one of unwavering love, partnership, and devotion. Andrea was a dedicated employee of Clovis Unified School District, where she retired as an Attendance Specialist at Nelson Elementary School. Before joining CUSD, she generously volunteered countless hours at her children’s schools, including making tacos for the Weldon Elementary School carnival for many years. She also dedicated her time to volunteering at the pantry at Our Lady of Perpetual Help (OLPH) Catholic Church where she enjoyed helping others and giving back to her community. Serving others came naturally to Andrea, and she was always willing to lend a helping hand. More than anything, Andrea treasured her family. She rarely missed an opportunity to attend the activities, sporting events, performances, and milestones of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She had a warm smile, a caring heart, and a gift for making everyone feel loved. Her deep faith guided her life, and she faithfully attended church throughout the years.
Andrea is survived by her devoted husband, Edward Ramirez; her four children: Xavier Ramirez and his wife, Kris; Patty Martinez; Pam Rivera and her husband, Greg; and Gabriel Ramirez and his wife, Brandy. She is also survived by her eleven beloved grandchildren: Aaron Ramirez, Christian Ramirez, Emily Merzoian, Garrett Ramirez, Sergio Martinez, Edward Martinez, Gregory Rivera III, Jarrod Rivera, Zachary Ramirez, Devin Ramirez, and Nadia Ramirez. Andrea was blessed with ten great-grandchildren: Kairi, Ally, Shelby, Leila, Royce, Rorion, Tony, Susanna, Amara, and Grant, who brought her tremendous joy and happiness. She is also survived by her siblings: Maria (“Minga”) Franco; Tommy Bustamante and his wife, Renee; and Siria St. Clair and her husband, Enrique, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Andrea’s kindness, generosity, unwavering faith, and unconditional love touched the lives of everyone who knew her. Her legacy lives on through the family she loved so deeply and the countless lives she influenced through her compassion, faith, and servant’s heart. Her family was the center of Andrea’s world. She loved attending anything involving her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was always there to celebrate their accomplishments, support them through difficult times, and simply be present. Her beautiful smile, laughter, and loving spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Andrea will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished by her family and friends.
